The Hall Falls On Wednesday Evening At Princeton
11/30/2016 8:20:00 PM | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (4-3) dropped a 94-67 decision at Princeton (3-4) on Wednesday evening at Jadwin Gymnasium. Deja Winters (Richmond Heights, Ohio) led the Pirates with 16 points in the setback, while Skyler Snider (Kearney, Neb.) finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double.
A hot shooting start for the Tigers paced Princeton to a double-digit first quarter lead that The Hall was unable to recover from. Overall, Princeton shot 48.0 percent from the floor and knocked down 12-of-26 from behind the arc in their triumph.
Turning Points
The Tigers came out of the chute red-hot, sinking a trip of 3-pointers to help open the contest on an 11-0 run and force an early timeout. Princeton would hold on to the double-digit advantage for much of the first half, until the Pirates cut the lead to 45-37 with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Winters heading into the half.
Princeton again came out fast to open the third quarter, scoring the first nine of the frame to swell its lead back to double-digits. After three quarters the Tigers had pushed their lead to 74-50 before closing out the victory.
Inside The Numbers
The Pirates return to Walsh Gym to kick off a quick two-game homestand when they host Wake Forest on Sunday, Dec. 4.
