
Pirates Complete Fall Season at Brown Invitational

SEEKONK, MASS. - The Seton Hall women' golf team will return to the links on Sunday, October 15 for the first of two rounds of golf at the 2017 Brown Bear Fall Invitational at Ledgemont Country Club.

The Course:
Earning its reputation as one of the finest private clubs in the region, the golf course defines the Club's proud tradition as a premier venue for the most discriminating golfer. Designed by acclaimed golf course architect Alfred Tull, the golf course is a par 71, 18 hole championship layout. Playing to a slope of 134 from the back tees and 126 from the forward tees, the golf course encourages all levels of play and is as challenging as it is beautiful.
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Brown, the field is comprised of nine other teams including: Central Connecticut State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Lehigh, LIU-Brooklyn, Quinnipiac, Siena and Wagner. BIG EAST rival St. John's is also a part of the field.

Seton Hall will be bringing the entire team to compete at Brown. The lineup and list of individuals is below, in order as indicated:

Last Time Out:
Sophomore Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) fired an even-par, 71, in Saturday's second round to lead the Pirates to a sixth place finish at the rain-shortened Yale Invitational.

Collectively, the Pirates improved six strokes on Saturday, finishing with a 12-over-par, 296. The Hall's second round effort allowed it to improve three spots in the final standings to sixth place. For the tournament, Seton Hall recorded a 30-over-par, 302-296-598. Stirling won the team title by 10 strokes at 12-over-par.

The Hall's top performer for the tournament was Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.). The sophomore turned in a second straight impressive round on Saturday, and used a strong finish to shoot up the individual scoreboard. Staudt was 6-over-par through 13 holes, but parred holes No. 15 and No. 18, birdied holes No. 14 and No. 16, and recorded an eagle on the par-4, 17th hole. She was 4-under-par through her final five holes alone. For the day, she shot a 2-over-par, 73. For the tournament, she tied for 14th place with a 6-over-par, 75-73-148. Staudt's 6-over-par finish is a career-best.

For Sunday's first round, Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Brown and St. John's with tee times beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Monday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
