10/16/2017 8:22:00 PM | Men's Golf
BEALLSVILLE, MD. – Junior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) is tied for second through 36 holes of the 2017 Georgetown Intercollegiate and has led the Seton Hall men's golf team to the team lead entering Tuesday's final round.
Yeom continued his breakout fall season on Monday and is 4-over-par with a 74-72-146. He is tied with Saint Joseph's (Pa.) Ross Pilliod for second place among 60 individual golfers and trails Rutgers' Christopher Gotterup by only one stroke with 18 holes to go.
Collectively, the Pirates shot a 22-over-par, 306, in the first round, and was in seventh place. But The Hall shaved 13 strokes off its score in the second round, and rocketed up the team standings. Through two rounds, Seton Hall is the team leader in the clubhouse with a 31-over-par, 306-293-599. The Hall leads the field despite difficult course conditions on Monday. The course was wet due to heavy rains on Sunday night, and the field had to deal with high winds and lower temperatures today.
Freshman Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) was two strokes better in his second round today. Currently, he's in eighth place with a 6-over-par, 75-73-148.
Junior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) improved five strokes in the second round. He's currently tied for 14th place with a 9-over-par, 78-73-151.
Senior Linus Yip (Sydney, Australia) is currently tied for 33rd place with a 13-over-par, 80-75-155, while freshman Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) is 18-over-par, 79-81-160.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Alex McAuley (Douglas, Isle of Man) is 16-over-par with a 79-79-158.
