Pirates Head to Hoya Invitational on Monday

BEALLSVILLE, MD. - The Seton Hall women' golf team will return to the links on Monday for the first two of three rounds at the 2017 Hoya Invitational, April 10-11, at The Members Club at Four Streams.

The Course:
Four Streams has a challenging layout designed by PGA Tour veteran Nick Price and famed golf architect Steve Smyers. The par-72, 6,127-yard course, the home for the Georgetown University men's and women's programs, is set amidst the rolling Maryland farmland and is one of Maryland's finest golf facilities.

The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Georgetown, the field features 13 other schools including: Boston University, Bucknell, Columbia, Monmouth, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Richmond, Rollins, South Florida, St. John's, Stephen F. Austin State, Towson and Yale.

Last Time Out:
Freshman Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) shot a team-best 5-over-par, 77, in Sunday's final round to finish second overall and lift the Pirates to a third place team finish at the Low Country Intercollegiate.

Staudt turned in a career-best performance with an 11-over-par, 78-77-155, to place second among 95 individual golfers. She finished just five strokes behind the individual champion, Presbyterian's Celia Mansour. It is Staudt's first career top-10 and top-5 finish.

Collectively, Seton Hall placed third with a 68-over-par, 320-324-644. The Pirates finished only six strokes behind the team champion, High Point, and only three strokes behind second-place Gardner-Webb.

Last Time at Hoya:
Last spring, Karlie Zabrosky notched her sixth career top-10 finish as the Seton Hall women's golf team placed third at the 2016 Hoya Invitational. Zabrosky placed sixth among 54 individual golfers with a 20-over-par, 76-77-83-236. St. John's Anna Kim won the individual title at 7-over-par.

Collectively, the Pirates finished with a 100-over-par, 317-317-330-964. Princeton won the team title at 75-over-par.

Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) recorded her third career top-10 finish with a 23-over-par, 77-81-81-239. She tied for eighth overall. Â Â
