3/16/2018 8:54:00 AM | Women's Golf
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Seton Hall women' golf team will return to the course this weekend with two rounds of golf at the 2018 Low Country Intercollegiate, March 17-18.
Â
Tournament Details:
LOW COUNTRY INTERCOLLEGIATE
Host:Â Wofford College
Location:Â Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Course:Â Moss Creek Golf Club (North Course)
Course Vitals:Â Par-72, 5,922 yards
Dates: March 17-18, 2018, Two Rounds
Â
The Course:
Golf at Moss Creek is some of the finest in all of the Low Country, with its two championship courses, Devils Elbow South and Devils Elbow North. Both courses were Fazio-designed more than 30 years ago, with the intention of making the game challenging for the low handicap golfers, as well as fair and playable to the higher handicap golfers.
Both of these courses are truly hidden treasurers. There is a real beauty to each of them as you ride or walk down the fairways. Each course is lined with magnificent oak trees and tall airy pines, with strategically-placed sand traps, large ponds and water tributaries, and last but not least are the salt marshes which change twice daily with the tides. All this beauty, and there is still more! While you are playing your round of golf you may see alligators sunning on the banks, or you might spot an egret or hawk, or even an eagle swooping down to snatch a fish out of one of the many ponds, and on occasion you could see a family of wild turkeys scampering across a fairway trying to avoid a barrage of tee shots coming down on them.
For the purposes of the Low Country Intercollegiate, the golf course will play a par of 72 over 5,922 yards.
Â
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Wofford, the field is comprised of 11 other teams including: Albany, Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, Citadel, Findlay, Gardner-Webb, Indiana State, Presbyterian, Quinnipiac, USC Beaufort and USC Upstate.
Â
The Lineup:
