
Kness, Win Fuel Hall to 10th Place at River Landing

WALLACE, N.C. – Sophomore Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) and freshman Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) each shot an even-par, 72, in the final round of the 2018 River Landing Classic to propel the Seton Hall women's golf team to a 10th place finish.
Kness had 16 pars on the round, one bogey and one birdie. She finished the round with 10 straight pars. For the tournament, she tied for 33rd place with an 8-over-par, 78-74-72-224. One of the golfers she tied was Win, who was equally as brilliant in round three, notching 14 pars, two bogeys and two birdies. She was also 8-over-par with a 75-77-72-224.
Collectively, the Pirates had by far their best team round on Tuesday. After shaving off 13 strokes from round one to round two, The Hall shaved off nine more strokes in round three to finish with a 5-over-par, 293. Only four teams had a better third round. The Pirates finished 10th, with a 46-over-par, 315-302-293-910. Campbell won the team title, running away from the field at 7-under-par.
Senior Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) had another strong round for the Pirates. She had just one trouble hole, carding "7" on the par-4, ninth hole. Otherwise, she shot even par the rest of the way, finishing with a 3-over-par, 75. For the three-round event, she was 12-over-par with a 12-over-par, 81-72-75-228.
Sophomore Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) notched her best round of the tournament on Tuesday. She had three birdies on the round in route to a 2-over-par, 74. For the event, she finished 18-over-par with an 81-79-74-234.
Rounding out the Pirates' team scoring, senior Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) carded a 6-over-par, 78, in round three. She got better each round, shooting a 22-over-par, 81-79-78-238.
Seton Hall brought its entire team to Wallace, N.C., so Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.), Gianna Tomeo (Bradenton, Fla.) and Jamie Greene (Troy, Mich.) competed as individuals.
Staudt also improved each round, and finished with a 15-over-par, 80-76-75-231. Tomeo was 29-over-par with an 82-80-83-245, while Greene was 46-over-par with an 89-93-80-262.

Designed to embrace the stunning beauty of the natural environment, the River Course runs along the Northeast Cape Fear River. This 18-hole championship course incorporates five tee boxes, Champion Bermuda on the greens and Tifway 419 Bermuda for the tees and fairways.

In addition to Seton Hall and hosts East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington, the field was comprised of 11 other teams including: Appalachian State, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Charlotte, Elon, High Point, Marshall, Memphis, Rutgers, Western Carolina and Wofford.
