Inja Butina (Zagreb, Croatia), Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) and Nicole Jimenez (Miami, Fla.) each added 15 points, while Victoria Cardaci (Holmdel, N.J.) joined them in double-figures with 12 points.

Up 37-35 at the outset of the third quarter, the Pirates came out on fire and reeled off a 12-2 run early in the frame to push their lead to 49-39 and force a DePaul timeout. Elmore added five more points during the third quarter spurt, including a three-point play. The Blue Demons got within two at 50-48 with 3:04 to play in the third, but an Elmore bucket and a Butina 3-pointer pushed the lead back to multiple possessions and the Pirates took a five-point lead to the fourth quarter.
