Pirates Pick Up First Win in Season Opener Against Rider

South Orange, N.J. – The men's swimming & diving team picked up their first win of the fall season with a 164-129 win over in-state rival Rider. As a collective unit, the Pirates put up impressive times across the board, especially considering Saturday's meet was the first official competition of the season.

Sophomore Thomas Staes (Berlaar, Belgium) paced the pool in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:02.96 while senior Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) and freshman Gennarino Conzemius took second and third, respectively.

The Pirates were able to successfully avenge last year's contest against Rider, a hard-fought 163-137 setback.

Overall, Seton Hall was able to take first in nine of the 16 men's events with seven different Pirates winning their individual event.

Up next, the Pirates will swim in the Rutgers Quad Meet on Oct. 11 and 12.
