Seton Hall will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 17 when it makes the short trip to the Bronx, N.Y. for a neutral site contest against Saint Joseph's. The game will be played at Rose Hill Gym on the campus of Fordham University. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. There will be no video stream, but the contest will be carried live on the radio via 89.5 FM WSOU. It will also be available via live stats.Â

Seton Hall junior Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Elmore was a force both offensively and defensively in a pair of Seton Hall routs last week to begin the 2019-20 season. The forward erupted for 20 points and matched her career-high with nine rebounds in the season-opener against Sacred Heart on Wednesday. She also had a career-high three blocks to go with three assists. On Saturday, Elmore recorded the first double-double of her career. She had game-highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while also dishing out three assists and recording a pair of steals. For the remarkable week, Elmore averaged 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game and was nearly perfect, 11-for-12, from the free-throw line.

LAST GAME
Senior Alexis Lewis (Pittston, Pa.) led a trio of Pirates to score at least 20 points, but the Seton Hall women's basketball team was edged by Princeton, 78-76, at historic Walsh Gymnasium on Friday.

Lewis erupted for a career-high 27 points on an efficient 9-for-12 from the field. She also had seven rebounds and a team-best five steals in a strong all-around game. Senior Barbara Johnson (Toronto, Ontario) added a career-high 21 points to go with four steals and three rebounds, while Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) tallied 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

The Pirates saw its season end on March 14, 2018 in the first round of the WNIT, falling to Saint Joseph's (19-14) by a score of 75-57. Selena Philoxy led The Hall with 13 points off the bench.

The Pirates could never find their footing in the setback, going to the half down 11 and pulling no closer than nine early in the third quarter. Chelsea Woods led the way for Saint Joseph's with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Amanda Fioravanti added 19 points.

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
Saint Joseph's is coming off a 12-19 overall record last season. The Hawks' season came to an end with a second round loss to VCU in the Atlantic 10 Championship.

This year, Saint Joseph's has been picked to finish 10th in the 14-team Atlantic 10 Conference per the preseason coaches' poll. They enter the contest 2-0 with victories at Columbia and at home vs. Temple.

Freshman Claire Melia currently leads the team with 20.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Three players are currently averaging in double-figures in scoring for the Hawks.
