Turning Point
The game featured four ties and 11 lead changes, and the Pirates were down by as many as nine points in the first half, but it came down to the final eight minutes when The Hall went on a 13-1 run to open up a double digit lead. Mamukelashvili was in the thick of it all, starting the run with a dunk off a great feed from McKnight and then blocking a shot down at the other end. Mamukelashvili then punctuated the run with a huge three off a pass from Powell at 4:38 to put the Pirates on top 76-65.
The Cyclones closed to within six with under a minute to play, but Mamukelashvili and Powell both grabbed huge rebounds off Iowa State misses to gain possession and get to the free throw line.
