Thanks to Seton Hall men's basketball radio analyst Dave Popkin, we've dubbed this the Conch & Corn series. Seton Hall vs. Iowa State Part I, the "Conch" if you will, went to the Pirates, 84-76 victors in the Bahamas. Now comes Part II, "The Corn," taking place in Ames, Iowa.Â
Like corn, playing at Hilton Coliseum can be difficult to digest. There will be 14,000 rabid Cyclones fans cheering for the team in red & yellow. There will be about 100 loyal Pirates fans rooting for the blue & white. But if there's anything that we can say about these Pirates, it's that they won't be intimidated. Including this year's win at Saint Louis, the Pirates have 17 victories in true road games when the attendance is over 8,500 since January 2015.Â
There's one particular guy who seems to thrive when the environment is hostile.

Sunday's game is part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle, otherwise known as a scheduling alliance. So far, the BIG EAST has won the first four matchups. Seton Hall and Iowa State is the fifth game with five more games to take place in the coming weeks. Six league victories will give the BIG EAST supremacy for this season.
If you are a night-owl, you can catch Sunday's "Conch & Corn" conclusion at 9 p.m., Eastern on ESPN2 with Lowell Galindo and Tim Welsh on the call. If you feel like you need to be in bed at that time, we recommend tuning your radio or phone to AM970 The Answer and let Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin take you through the game...just keep the light on and don't fall asleep.
P.S. - BIG EAST Digital Network correspondent John Fanta will be sifting through the cornfields to get to Sunday's game, and he will have live coverage through his Twitter feed @John_Fanta.Â
Three Things to Know About Sunday's Battle at Iowa State
 1. What Did We Learn from the First Matchup?
The Pirates learned that Iowa State can be an offensive explosion waiting to happen as the Cyclones made their first five shots and quickly got out to a nine-point lead. Spotting Iowa State nine at Hilton Coliseum will not be a winning formula, so the Pirates need to be ready to defend Tyrese Haliburton and company from the first tip through the final buzzer.Â
Â
2. Win the Inside Game
Where as Seton Hall tried to win the Oregon game with threes, the Pirates came back and had a great inside game against Iowa State, outscoring the Cyclones in the paint, 40-34, out-rebounding them, 40-29, and limiting their second-chance points to just six. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Pirates need to do some damage inside to come away victorious.
 Â
3. The Points Are There for the Taking
All four of Iowa State's "Power Six Conference" opponents have hung at least 80 points on the Cyclones, including Seton Hall. The Pirates have an opportunity to get points with good ball movement, and as the numbers suggest, they are very difficult to beat when they score at least 80. The Hall is 4-0 this season and 9-1 last season and 74-7 in Kevin Willard's 10-year tenure when it puts up at least 80.
