See...you can't. Seton Hall is ready for the New York stage and ready to compete for a BIG EAST Tournament championship. The road will be tough; it's as wide open as it's ever been, and the Pirates are facing a stiff quarterfinal challenge in Georgetown, but here's what we know: the Pirates have been here before. They've played the biggest teams on the biggest stages. That's why you prepare yourself with a Kentucky or a Maryland.Â
The BIG EAST Tournament is a different animal, but playing in the world's greatest city in the world's greatest arena plays to Seton Hall's advantage. The Pirates eat this stuff up. Also, if they play the way they played Saturday against Villanova, they can beat anybody.
Thursday's quarterfinal game is on FS1 with Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson on the call and Lisa Byington on the sidelines. Calling the action on the radio once again are Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin on AM970 The Answer, simulcast on Sirius 133, XM 201 and the Pirate Sports Network.
Three Things to Know About the BIG EAST Quarterfinal Bout with Georgetown
 1. Georgetown Can Beat You Many Ways
Seton Hall did a great job on the Hoya guards in the first matchup in Newark. But on the inside, Jessie Govan has been the difference so far, averaging 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds against the Pirates. So it's a little bit of a pick-you-poison situation for The Hall because the guards, James Akinjo and Mac McClung are super talented. Akinjo fared much better against the Hall in D.C., than in Newark. Keep an eye on that matchup with Quincy McKnight.
Â
2. There Should be a Replication of Villanova Game
The Pirates were amazing last Saturday, blanketing the Wildcats on defense and passing the ball with efficiency to find open shots on the offensive end. If the Pirates make shots, they could be unstoppable. They hit 13 triples in last Saturday's win. They've only eclipsed 10 made threes seven times this year. Naturally, they are 6-1 in those games.
 Â
3. There's Garden Magic Afoot
There's something about playing at Madison Square Garden, isn't there? The Pirates know it, and it's time to feed off of it. Oh, by the way, Seton Hall is 7-3 this season when game time is after 8 p.m., Eastern.
