SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Sophomore Mya Jackson (Wilmington, Ohio) erupted for a career-high 27 points as the Seton Hall women's basketball team throttled Wagner, 96-53, in Walsh Gymnasium on Friday.

Jackson was brilliant scoring 27 points on an efficient 11-for-16 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-point range. Three other Pirates reached double-figures in scoring with Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) adding a career-high 14 points, Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) scoring 13 points and freshman Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) chipping in a career-best 12 points.

The Pirates shot 59.0% from the floor for the game, and used a huge second quarter to pull away from the Seahawks.

The Story:
Seton Hall was in control from the start, scoring nine of the game's first 11 points, including seven straight from Jackson. After finishing the first quarter with a seven-point lead, the Pirates blew the game open in the second. The Hall held Wagner scoreless for the first 4:37, opening the quarter with 19 straight points to build a commanding 42-16 advantage with 5:23 to go before halftime.

When the dust settled on the second quarter, the Pirates tied their single-quarter point record out-scoring the Seahawks, 35-11, while shooting a remarkable 75.0% (15-for-20) from the floor. Jackson and Park-Lane combined for 20 points in the quarter alone as The Hall took a 58-27 lead into the locker room.

The Hall opened the second half with a 16-4 run, and a driving fast-break layup by Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) gave it a commanding 74-31 lead. The Pirates never led by fewer than 34 points the rest of the way.

Seton Hall will now return to action on Sunday, December 13 against Albany at Walsh Gymnasium. The game will be streamed by the Pirate Sports Network, and of course will be provided on the radio by 89.5 FM WSOU and wsou.net. Tip-time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET. This is a new game, added to the schedule on Friday to replace the originally scheduled game vs. Fordham.
