SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall Athletics will officially unveil its latest facility improvement on Tuesday, March 10, at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Mike Sheppard, Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field.
The event will be attended by Seton Hall University President Dr. Joseph E. Nyre, Seton Hall Executive Vice President for Operations and Chief of Staff Pat Lyons, Director of Athletics and Recreation Bryan Felt, 2018 Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Phyllis Sheppard, as well as student-athletes and coaches of the three programs that call the transformed facility home: women's soccer, men's soccer and baseball. All Pirates fans and members of the community are encouraged to attend the event.
Seton Hall broke ground on the Mike Sheppard, Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field renovation in March 2019, and the project has produced new field turf, chairback seating, permanent restrooms and enclosed press boxes on both the soccer and baseball sides of the facility. The improvements have also made the facility handicap accessible and ADA compliant.
The following day on Wednesday, March 11, Seton Hall baseball will host its home opener as the Pirates take on Fairleigh Dickinson at 4 p.m.
