
Former Pirate Michael LaRosa named to the Office of the First Lady

WASHINGTON – Seton Hall Swimming & Diving alumnus Michael LaRosa was announced as one of the newly-appointed members of the Office of the First Lady today. LaRosa will serve as the press secretary to Dr. Jill Biden. LaRosa previously served as the Traveling Press Secretary and Chief Spokesperson for Dr. Jill Biden on the Biden-Harris Campaign and Transition.
Before serving on the campaign staff, LaRosa served in a variety of roles including as the Communications Director for the House Democratic Policy Communications Committee in the Office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and for the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources under Ranking Member Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA). LaRosa also was a segment producer for MSNBC's Hardball and a writer for MSNBC's digital platforms.
LaRosa graduated from Seton Hall in 2006 with a degree in political science and communications. At the time of his graduation, LaRosa held four program records across the 100 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay events. In the classroom, LaRosa was a four-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
LaRosa's then-record setting time of 45.84 in the 100 Free at the 2005 BIG EAST Championships still ranks in the top-10 in school history. LaRosa also holds a top-10 time in the 50 Free at 20.84, also at the 2005 BIG EAST Championships.
