THE GAME
Seton Hall will return to action on Tuesday, December 21 when it completes the non-conference portion of its schedule against Wagner in Walsh Gym. Tip time is scheduled for Noon.Â

LAST GAME
Junior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) erupted for a season-high 25 points to go with eight assists and the Pirates surprised Marquette, 69-57, in Walsh Gym on Sunday.

The Pirates, playing with only eight available players and two coaches due to COVID-19 protocols, used a thrilling 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to stun the Golden Eagles late. The victory is the Pirates' first in conference play, while Marquette suffers its first BIG EAST loss and has a four-game win streak snapped.

Park-Lane erupted for a season-high 25 points on the strength of 6-for-8 shooting from three-point range. She also dished out eight assists and grabbed four rebounds. Her six made trifectas are a career-high. Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) played all 40 minutes and scored 16 points with seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) had 12 points and six rebounds.

LAST TIME AGAINST WAGNER
Mya Jackson erupted for a career-high 27 points as the Pirates throttled Wagner, 96-53, in Walsh Gymnasium last Dec. 11.

Jackson was brilliant scoring 27 points on an efficient 11-for-16 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-point range. Three other Pirates reached double-figures in scoring with Mya Bembry adding a career-high 14 points, Lauren Park-Lane scoring 13 points and Amari Wright chipping in a career-best 12 points.

The Pirates shot 59.0% from the floor for the game and used a huge second quarter to pull away from the Seahawks.

SCOUTING WAGNER
The Seahawks are coming off a strong abbreviated 2020-21 season, finishing with a 13-6 final record. After defeating Saint Francis, Wagner's season came to an end with a 70-38 loss to Mount St. Mary's in the NEC Championship Game.

This season, the Seahawks are predicted to place second in the 10-team Northeast Conference according to the league's preseason coaches poll. Senior Emilija Krista Grava was named to the Preseason All-NEC Team.

Wagner is off to a strong start this season with wins in seven of their first nine games. The Seahawks had one six straight, which includes a victory over St. John's on Dec. 12, but lost on Saturday at Rutgers, 73-54. Grava leads the team with 12.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
