
Pirates Climb Ranks on Day Two

First up in the 500 Free, the Pirates had five swimmers make it to finals. Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) took second in the event with a time of 4:27.79 while Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.) swam a personal-best time of 4:29.19 to take fourth.

Freshman Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) took seventh for the Pirates while Caleb Smith (Charlottesville, Va.) took second in the consolation final and Sawyer Keyes (Missoula, Mont.) dropped almost six second from his prelims time in the finals for the Pirates.
The 200 IM saw two Pirates swim personal bests in their finals swim with Jonathan Ware (Cypress, TX) (1:53.35) and Henry Keegan (Needham, Mass.) (1:54.80) each reaching new personal heights in the event. Ji Ho Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) took second in the consolation finals while Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.) picked up the best time for the Pirates in the 200 IM Final at 1:51.86.
In the fastest event of the week, Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.) took home second place for The Hall in the 50 Free. Minar's time of 20.54 was just edged out as the sophomore looked for his second, first-place finish in two nights after taking first in the 200 Medley Relay on Day One.

The Pirates would round out day two string earning a second-place finish in the 200 Free Relay. The team of Minar, Liam Cosgrove (Sea Girt, N.J.), Ben Puglessi (Ada, Mich.) and LaClair touched the wall in a time of 1:22.20 to take second for the Pirates.
