
Cosgrove Leads Pirates on Day Three

In the process of winning the 100 Fly, Cosgrove broke his own school record with a time of 47.70, 0.10 seconds faster than his previous best. Cosgrove is now a four-time BIG EAST Champion after he was part of the winning 200 Medley Relay team on Wednesday. In addition to Cosgrove, Ben Puglessi (Ada, Mich.) also qualified as a finalist in the event.

To start off Friday night's session, the Seton Hall has six different Pirates qualify for finals in the 400 IM. Christian Kopecki (Weston, Fla.), Walker Parra (Pensacola, Fla.), Jonathan Ware (Cypress, TX) and JASON HO LEE all competed for The Hall. Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.) took fifth for the Pirates while Caleb Smith finished six in the 400 IM Finals. Oosterwyk finished in a personal-best time of 4:00.69 while Smith earned a new top-10 time of 4:01.45.

The Pirates again had a multitude of qualifiers for finals, this time in the 200 Free Final. Conor Dunne (Hinsdale, Ill.), Sawyer Keyes (Missoula, Mont.) and Gaige Ryan (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) swam in the consolation final for the Pirates with Ryan taking second in the event. Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) earned a second-place finish while Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) placed third in a personal best time of 1:38.83, good enough for a top-10 time in program history. Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.) also placed for The Hall in the 200 Free Final, taking fifth for the Pirates.

Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.) swam a lifetime-best time of 55.62 to take second place in the 100 Breaststroke Final. Thomas Staes (Berlaar, Belgium), Justen Lopez (Levittown, N.Y.) and Henry Keegan (Needham, Mass.) all qualified for finals while Keegan swam a personal-best time of 57.79 in prelims.

Cosgrove, Puglessi, Parra and Pantano all qualified for finals in the 100 Back, while Pantano earned himself a fifth-place finish in a time of 50.10. Parra swam a life-time best time of 51.87.

In the 400 Medley Relay the Pirates took second place to round out day three. The relay team consisting of Pantano, Conzemius, Cosgrove and LaClair finished in a time of 3:17.98.
