The Hall will unveil a newly-renovated Walsh Gym against six non-conference opponents.
NEW YORK - The Seton Hall women' basketball team released its official 2021-22 non-conference schedule on Thursday. The slate features nine opponents including six contests at the newly-renovated Walsh Gymnasium and four games against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams.
Â
"We're really exciting to be able to play a full schedule again after a very arduous 2020-21 year," Bozzella said. "We think this slate of non-conference games will both challenge and well-prepare us for BIG EAST Conference play. We're really looking forward to November and having our great fans there once again to support us in person."
Â
Seton Hall will open the 2021-22 campaign against Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates have split two all-time meetings with the Mountaineers, but the teams haven't met since 2012. The Mount is coming off a 17-win season, NEC title and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Â
The Pirates will host Fordham on Saturday, Nov. 13 and Lehigh on Tuesday, Nov. 16. The Hall was scheduled to host the Rams last season, but that game was canceled. The Pirates have won seven of the last eight games against Fordham, including their most recent meeting, a 66-54 win on Dec. 9, 2015. Seton Hall dropped its last meeting with Lehigh, a 75-68 loss on the road in 2019. Lehigh is the defending Patriot League champions and is coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Â
Seton Hall will then head to Cancun, Mexico for games against Iowa and Toledo as part of the 2021 Cancun Challenge. The Hall will take on Big Ten foe Iowa on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25. The Pirates and Hawkeyes have never met. Iowa is coming off a strong season which included a 20-10 record and a run to the NCAA Sweet 16. On Friday, Nov. 26, the Pirates will face Toledo. The Hall fell at Toledo, 71-65, in the WNIT to close the 2018-19 season. The Rockets are coming off a 12-12 season last year.
Â
The Hall will return to Walsh Gym on Wednesday, Dec. 1 for a contest against Iona. The Pirates are 15-0 all-time against the Gaels, including an 89-37 rout on Dec. 8, 2019 in New Rochelle.
Â
On Saturday, Dec. 11, The Hall will make the short trip to Princeton for a game against the Tigers. Seton Hall is 12-7 all-time against Princeton, but is coming off a two-point loss to them in their most recent meeting in 2019.Â
Â
The Pirates will round out the non-conference schedule with home games against Central Florida on Tuesday, Dec. 14 and Wagner on Tuesday, Dec. 21. The Hall has never played UCF. The Knights are coming off an NCAA Tournament berth.  The Pirates throttled Wagner, 96-53, last season at in Walsh Gym.
