LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates pulled out a gritty 3-2 victory on the road at Marquette on Wednesday night to stay tied atop the BIG EAST standings. Mattias Almeida Sundell (Sweden) and Paavo Riihijarvi (Oulu, Finland) scored the first two goals of the night for Seton Hall, but it was Quenzi Huerman's (Vannes, France) goal in the 74th minute that was the highlight. Huerman forced a turnover in his defensive half, and fired a shot from beyond midfield into the back of the net, catching the Marquette goalkeeper out of position.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON (4-3-4, 1-2-2)
- The Bluejays dropped a road contest on Wednesday at No. 11 Xavier, falling 3-1.
- Creighton opened the season with an offensive flurry, scoring two or more goals in eight of its first nine matches. In four of those matches, the Bluejays scored five or more goals. In the five matches since, Creighton has scored more than one goal in a match just once.
- Duncan McGuire leads the BIG EAST in points (20) and goals (9). McGuire, Owen McCalley and Jackson Castro all rank within the top five in the conference in both categories. Giorgio Probo is the league leader in assists with seven.
- The Bluejays as a team lead the BIG EAST in goals per game (2.73), assists (27) and assists per game (2.45).
- Creighton leads the all-time series 5-3-0, but have lost in each of its last two trips to South Orange. The last time the Bluejays won at Owen T. Carroll Field was in 2015, when Creighton was ranked No. 1 in the nation.
- The Pirates are unbeaten through six BIG EAST games for the first time in program history.
- Hannes Ronnholmen's five shutouts are tied for the third most in a season in program history.
- The Pirates have allowed just 12 goals all season, the third fewest in the BIG EAST. They have also scored 10 goals just during conference play, which ranks second in the league.
- Seton Hall is one of only two teams in the BIG EAST with one or fewer losses so far this season (Xavier).
- The win at UConn last Saturday night was the Pirates' first road win against the Huskies since a 3-2 overtime win in the semifinals of the 2000 BIG EAST Tournament.
- The Pirates have finished in a draw five times this season, tying the single-season program record which has been done twice before (2014, 1979).
- The Hall had an 11-2 edge in corner kicks on Oct. 5 against DePaul, their largest advantage in that category since owning a 10-0 margin in corners on Sep. 27, 2014, also against DePaul.
- Borg's goal against St. John's on Oct. 1 was the latest regulation game-winning goal for the Pirates since CJ Tibbling's 89th minute goal against Air Force in the opening round of the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
- Johannes Pex's penalty kick goal against Xavier on Sep. 17 was the latest game-tying goal scored by the Pirates since Spencer Burkhardt netted an equalizer at 89:58 in an eventual Pirate overtime win at Princeton on Sep. 7, 2017.
- The Pirates scored a goal in each of their first nine matches of this season, doing so for the first time since 1999 when they scored in their first 11 matches.
- Seton Hall has won its last seven matches, and 16 of its last 17, when scoring the first goal.
- The win over Oregon State on Sep. 2 was the Pirates' first over a top-10 team in the United Soccer Coaches rankings since beating No. 2 Georgetown to win the BIG EAST title on Apr. 17, 2021. The win also marked the first time Seton Hall has defeated a top-10 non-conference foe since winning at No. 3 Virginia in the 2001 NCAA Tournament.
- The Pirates conceded just one goal through its first three matches of the season, the program's best defensive start to a season since 2005.
