
Habib Leads Pirates at ECAC Championships

Bronx, N.Y. – Nancy Habib (Clifton, N.J.) led the way for the Pirates once again at the 2022 ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning. The senior completed the 6k course with a time of 22:36.4 to finish 61st overall among the field of 338 runners.
This marks the fifth time this season that Habib has been the first Pirate to cross the finish line. Dating back to last season, Habib has done so in each of her last 14 races, as she was the top finisher on the team in all nine of her appearances in 2021.
Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) was the second Pirate to complete the course, doing so in a time of 23:13.6. Behind her was Caitlin Fahy (Ringwood, N.J.), finishing with a time of 23:21.0 to round out the top three Seton Hall finishers.
Also competing on the day for the Pirates was Etta Moen (Kenmore, Wash.), Arianna Braccio (Nashua, N.H.), Madison Rempalski (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.).
The Pirates will have two weeks to prepare for the BIG EAST Championships, which take place Saturday, October 29 at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass.
