MIDLOTHIAN, VA. – Senior Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) was the individual runner-up and guided the Seton Hall women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Independence Classic on Tuesday.

Fouratt was steady throughout the two-round event, shooting a 1-over-par, 72-73-145, and finished just one stroke behind the individual champion, Richmond's Naomi Mitchell.

As a team, the Pirates shaved five strokes off their first-round score to finish with an 11-over-par, 299, on Tuesday. For the event, they were 27-over-par with a 304-299-603. The Hall finished three strokes behind Richmond for the team title, and six strokes ahead of St. John's.

Freshman Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) had a stellar event as the Pirates' second-best golfer. She finished with a 5-over-par, 75-74-149 to tie for fourth overall.

Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) and Margot Bechadergue (Aix En Provence, France) placed eighth and ninth respectively. Zavagli shot a 10-over-par, 78-76-154, while Bechadergue was one stroke behind with an 11-over-par, 79-76-155.

Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) tied for 17th with a 17-over-par, 80-81-161, while Sasha Amelang (Houston, Texas) notched a 31-over-par, 88-87-175.
