
Pirates Set for Sacred Heart Invitational this Weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – The Seton Hall women's golf team will return to action on March 11-12 for three rounds of action at the Sacred Heart Spring Invitational at LPGA International.

THE COURSE
Since 1994, LPGA International's signature Rees Jones golf course is a favorite of the tour players. It is a traditional links style 7,088 yard design. You will enjoy the strategic mounding, numerous expanses of sand bunkers, natural marsh areas, beautiful lakes and undulating greens. While extremely playable for all skill levels, the ingenious and inventive player is rewarded with multiple options on nearly every shot.

The Jones Course is 4-Star rated by Golf Digest and was awarded 6th in their "America's Top 50 Courses for Women 2010" list.

THE FORMAT
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) was the individual runner-up and guided the Pirates to a second-place finish at the Independence Classic last week. Fouratt was steady throughout the two-round event, shooting a 1-over-par, 72-73-145, and finished just one stroke behind the individual champion, Richmond's Naomi Mitchell.

As a team, the Pirates shaved five strokes off their first-round score to finish with an 11-over-par, 299, in round two. For the event, they were 27-over-par with a 304-299-603. The Hall finished three strokes behind Richmond for the team title, and six strokes ahead of St. John's.
