THE GAME
Seton Hall will continue play in the 2022 Women's National Invitation Tournament on Monday, March 21 when it hosts Virginia Commonwealth in the second round at newly-renovated Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.Â

The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and available to FloSports subscribers with Matt Ambrose and Phil Stern on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU and at wsou.net. Live stats will also be available.

The Pirates held Fairleigh Dickinson scoreless for the fourth quarter and Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) erupted for a game-high 29 points in a 67-45 victory over FDU in the opening round of the WNIT on Thursday.

The Pirates trailed by three with 3:36 left in the third quarter, but outscored the Knights, 28-3, for the remainder of the game. In the fourth quarter, The Hall held FDU to 0-for-12 shooting from the floor, turning a close six-point contest after three quarters into a 22-point rout.

Park-Lane scored 20 of her game-high 29 points in the second half and was 12-for-20 from the floor. Senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) collected her team-leading 11th double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) received an At Large bid to the 2022 WNIT after a 14-10 regular season. The Rams went 9-5 in the Atlantic 10 and was eliminated from the conference tournament by by Dayton in the second round.

Taya Robinson earned All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors as well as being named to the All-Defensive and All-Academic Team. Sarah Te-Biasu was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Third Team. Robinson earned All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors for the second consecutive season and All-Defensive honors for the fourth consecutive year.

Seton Hall and VCU shared one common opponent this season, Fordham, who defeated the Rams, 54-48, on Jan. 15.

Most recently, VCU defeated Stony Brook, 56-48, in the first round of the WNIT on Friday. VCU's defense held Stony Brook to shoot just 14 percent in the second half. Robinson scored a game-high 20 points, going an 8-of-19 from the floor.Â

UP NEXT
With a victory over VCU, Seton Hall will return to action in the Sweet 16 round of the WNIT against the winner of the second-round matchup between Bucknell and Drexel. The game date, time and location are still undetermined.
