THE GAME
Seton Hall will continue play in the 2022 Women's National Invitation Tournament on Thursday, March 24 when it hosts Drexel in the Sweet 16 at newly-renovated Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.Â

LAST GAME
Junior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) and senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) combined for 41 points and the Pirates held off a furious late VCU rally as the Pirates held on for a 70-67 victory over Virginia Commonwealth in the second round of the WNIT on Monday.

The Pirates led for the majority of the game, and boosted their advantage to as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter, but had to hold on late as VCU went on a 9-0 run in the final two minutes.

Park-Lane finished with a team-best 22 points to go with six assists, two steals and only one turnover. Cooks had 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) was a third Pirate to reach double-figures in scoring. She had 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

SCOUTING DREXEL
Drexel is in the midst of one of its greatest seasons in program history. It ended the regular season 24-4, tied for the most wins in program history prior to the conference tournament. At 16-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association, the Dragons earned an automatic qualifying bid to the WNIT by winning the CAA regular season championship.

Keishana Washington was named to the CAA First Team and was the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Hannah Nihill was selected to the Second Team and All-Defensive Team. Tessa Brugler is on the Second Team and Head Coach Amy Mallon was voted as the CAA Coach of the Year.

Washington finished the regular season second in the CAA in scoring at 19.4 points per game, a mark that is in the top-30 nationally.

Drexel was upset by second-seeded Delaware in the CAA Tournament Championship Game, but has bounced back with two victories so far in the WNIT. On March 17, the Dragons defeated Norfolk State, 54-47. In round two on Monday, they erased a 17-point third-quarter deficit to edge Bucknell, 61-58.Â

UP NEXT
With a victory over Drexel, Seton Hall will return to action in the Elite Eight round of the WNIT against the winner of the Sweet 16 matchup between Boston College and Columbia. The game date, time and location are still undetermined.
