NEW YORK – Led by head coach Clay White, the Seton Hall men's golf coaching staff was named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year by the conference office on Monday.
Â
White, J.T. Harper and Ian Lagowitz comprise Seton Hall's award-winning coaching staff. Â It's only the third time in program history that the Pirates have received the award with Clark Holle's staff netting the distinction in 2000 and Richard Distlerath's group earning it in 1998.

White, Harper and Lagowitz helped author one of the greatest years in program history in 2021-22. A year that will continue next week as The Hall begins play at the 2022 NCAA Yale Regional in New Haven, Conn.
Â
For the first time in 22 years, White's Pirates won the BIG EAST Championship, besting tournament favorite Marquette by three strokes and defending champion Connecticut by 11 strokes. The Hall's 15-under-par, 288-283-278-849 is the second-lowest three-round par-72 score in program history. In all, the Pirates claimed the team title of four tournaments this year, which is second-most in a single academic year ever for Seton Hall. In 12 total tournaments, The Hall finished worse than fourth place only once.
Â
Seton Hall's 287.97 scoring average for the year is second-best in the BIG EAST Conference and shatters the program record by nearly three full strokes. Furthermore, the Pirates set program records for total birdies, eagles and rounds of par or better in 2021-22. The Hall's current 90 national Golfstat ranking is its highest ever.
