
Halevi, Waggoner Sweep BIG EAST Swim Weekly Honors

NEW YORK – Seton Hall swept the BIG EAST's Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving weekly awards announced on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Allie Waggoner (Moorestown, N.J.) was named Women's Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) earned Men's Athlete of the Week.
Waggoner had a massive week at the WVU Invitational, setting five school records, winning three events and securing two NCAA "B" cut times. Her week began by setting a new program record in the prelims of the 500 Free, only to break that record later that night in her victory in event finals with a time of 4:47.73. The next night, Waggoner broke her own program mark in the 400 IM finals. The junior won the event in an an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:16.78. On the final night of the meet, Waggoner took down two more school records and picked up another victory. Waggoner won the 1650 Free in a time of 16:28.27, breaking her own school record and picking up another NCAA "B" cut. She also swam a 1000 Free split of 9:56.82 which too was a program record, her fifth of the week. In addition, Waggoner's times in the 500 Free, 1000 Free, 1650 Free and 400 IM are each the fastest in the BIG EAST so far this season.
Halevi took first place and set the top BIG EAST time this season in the 500 Free last week at the WVU Invitational. The sophomore touched the wall in a time of 4:26.63 to set the conference mark. Halevi also took second in the 1650 Free in a time of 15:34.55, which sits as the second-fastest in the league this season.
