Pirates Take On Low Country Intercollegiate, Friday
3/16/2023 10:00:00 AM | Women's Golf
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Seton Hall women's golf team will return to tournament play with three rounds of golf at the Low Country Intercollegiate, March 17-19.
Â
Tournament Details:
LOW COUNTRY INTERCOLLEGIATE
Host:Â Wofford College
Location:Â Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Course:Â Moss Creek Golf Club (South Course)
Course Vitals:Â Par-72, 6,009 yards
Dates:Â March 17-19, 2023
Â
THE COURSE:
Golf at Moss Creek Golf Club is a testament to the early greatness of Tom Fazio, who designed the entire Devils Elbow complex—both the South and North 18-hole courses. Each is lined with magnificent oak trees and tall airy pines, giving way to scented salt marshes. The layouts at Moss Creek Golf Club can be best described as Lowcountry golf landscape accented by large ponds and water tributaries with tidal salt marshes at the edges. Golfers pause to spot alligators sunning on the banks, egrets and circling hawks or eagles, even a family of wild turkeys moving silently by.Â
Â
THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Wofford, the field includes 17 other schools:Â Appalachian State, Citadel, Columbia, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville Longwood, Presbyterian, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Samford, UNC Greensboro, UNC Asheville, USC Upstate, USC Beaufort, Western Michigan and Winthrop.
Â
THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
