Newark, N.J. - Anchored by five players scoring in double figures and a massive 28-0 run midway through the game, the Seton Hall men's basketball team took care of St. John's, 80-65, on Tuesday night at Prudential Center. The win gives Seton Hall its fifth consecutive victory and eighth win in its last nine contests.

How It Happened
Seton Hall's strong defensive effort started from the opening tap as the Pirates held the Red Storm to only one field goal through the first six-plus minutes of the game. St. John's used a 10-0 run that cut its deficit to one, 13-12, but a layup by senior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with 7:31 left in the half pushed Seton Hall's lead back to three.
After the Red Storm hit a three that tied the score, 24-24, with 4:33 to go in the first half, the Pirates went into the locker room on a 14-0 run that featured five points by Addae-Wusu. The Pirates' carried that momentum into the second half where they used another 14-0 run that ballooned their lead to 28, 52-24, with 16:32 left.
The Pirates continued to step on the accelerator as a three-pointer from the top of the arc by freshman David Tubek (Juba, South Sudan) made it 64-40 in favor of the The Hall. St. John's trimmed the Seton Hall lead to 17 with with 10:06 to go but Addae-Wusu's third triple of the contest pushed the Pirates' lead back up to 20, 67-47. The Hall's clock management forced the Johnnies to foul early and the Pirates rode an 80 percent shooting clip from the charity stripe in the second half that helped them cruise to a 15-point victory.
