Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday, January 31 when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium for a game against long-time BIG EAST rival Georgetown. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.Â

Graduate student Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) had a game-high 19 points to go with nine rebounds, but the Seton Hall women's basketball team couldn't find its offensive footing late and fell to No. 21 Creighton, 57-49, on Sunday.

The Pirates trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but battled back thanks to a 10-0 run. Both defenses clamped down in the fourth quarter with each team making only one field goal over the final 10 minutes. Creighton, however, went 8-for-12 from the free-throw line to hold off Seton Hall.

Baines had 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting and nine rebounds. I'yanna Lops (Stamford, Conn.) had six points, a team-high 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Seton Hall and Georgetown will renew their long BIG EAST rivalry on Wednesday. The Hall owns a 45-30 all-time series lead and has won eight of the last nine games against the Hoyas. The Pirates have won six straight games in the series at Walsh Gym. Georgetown's last victory in South Orange came on Feb. 10, 2017.

The Pirates rallied from a 21-point deficit early in the contest to stun Georgetown, 57-49, in its first BIG EAST game of the season on Dec. 20.

The Hall trailed 21-2 after the first quarter, a program record for points futility in a single-quarter, but turned it on over the final three quarters, outscoring the Hoyas, 55-to-28. The Hall out-rebounded Georgetown, 19-to-15 in the second half, after being out-rebounded 16-to-4 in the first quarter alone.

Graduate student Azana Baines scored a team-high 14 points to go with six rebounds. Sophomore Micah Gray had 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Kae Satterfield added nine points, six rebounds and two steals. Makennah White had another strong outing off the bench with eight points and two steals.

Georgetown was picked to finish 10th in the 11-team BIG EAST according to the 2023-24 Coaches Preseason Poll.Â

Georgetown has exceeded expectations this year having already matched its overall win total of a year ago. The Hoyas enter Wednesday's contest with a 14-6 overall mark and a 4-5 record in BIG EAST play. Georgetown already has victories over DePaul, Butler, Providence and Xavier in conference, but has lost two straight. Most recently, the Hoyas were edged at St. Johns, 57-56, on Sunday. Kelsey Ransom leads the team with 15.2 points per game.Â
