
Butler, Beaman lead Pirates to Second Place in Metropolitan Championship

Newark, N.J. - Sophomore Joseph Butler (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) secured third place, his best finish of the season, with a 25:27.31 to help the Pirates to a second-place finish at the Metropolitan Championship Saturday morning.
Junior Stephen Beaman (Johnston, Iowa) came in less than half a second behind Butler with a 25:27.63 to finish fourth overall. This was Beaman's second top four finish in as many races.
Ninth place belonged to Junior Logan Brunozzi (Churchville, Pa.), rounding out the top ten finishers for The Hall with a 26:13.04.
Freshman Aakash Arumguam (Rockland, Calif) was the final top 20 finisher for the Pirates, completing the distance in a time of 26:33.71.
In the race for the team championship, the Pirates finished in second place with 53 points, five points shy of beating Manhattan for the team title this weekend.
The Pirates will return Friday to compete in the IC4A Championship in Bronx, N.Y.
