Davis Tallies In 2-1 Loss To Creighton

South Orange, N.J. -- Freshman Nina Davis (Ramsey, N.J.) posted her second goal of the season in the final seconds but it wouldn't be enough as the Seton Hall women's soccer team fell to Creighton, 2-1, on Thursday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.
The Pirates (4-10-3, 1-5-2 BIG EAST) had eight shots and three shots on goal to Creighton's 13 total shots and seven shots on goal.
How It Happened
Seton Hall had possession of the ball for nearly the entirety of the first five minutes; finding its shape working through the backline and working the ball from one side of the pitch to the other. Despite the strong first five, the Bluejays struck first with a goal in the sixth minute off of a misguided header that went backwards into Creighton's attacking area. Creighton would score again 13 minutes later off of a free kick header that made it 2-0.
The effort level and intensity increased for The Hall as they created more chances in the final 45 minutes, outshooting the Bluejays 6-3. The Pirates also had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks in the final stanza. With less than a minute to play, freshman Kyle Ray (Hampden, Mass.) played a ball into the box that went off a Creighton player and found the feet of Davis who converted her second goal of her young career.
Up Next
The Pirates will hit road on Sunday to take on UConn at 1 p.m. in Storrs.
