Pirates Place 9th at BIG EAST Championship

LEESBURG, VA. – Seton Hall women's cross country traveled to Leesburg, Virginia, to compete in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship today, where they placed ninth out of 11 teams with 286 points.
Senior Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) was the Pirates highest finisher today with a time of 22:43.38, finishing in 54th place.
Soon after Smith came sophomore Caitlin Fahy (Ringwood, N.J.). She crossed the line second for the Pirates with a time of 22:59.56.
Junior Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.) crossed the line in a time of 23:48.92, earning the Pirates their third top 75 finisher. Not long after Strosnider was sophomore Paige Quigley (Sacramento, Calif.)with a time of 23:55.00.
The final points scoring place went to sophomore Kayla Carrino, who finished the six-kilometer course with a time of 24:23.86.
The Pirates will return to competition on November 15, when they travel to University Park Pennsylvania, to compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship.
