
Pirates fall at No. 5 Creighton in three sets

OMAHA, NEB. – Sophomore Senna Roberts-Navarro (Honolulu, Hawaii) had eight kills and no attack errors, but the Seton Hall women's volleyball team fell in three sets at No. 5 Creighton, 3-0 (12-25, 16-25, 10-25), on Friday.

The loss snaps Seton Hall's three-match win streak and extends its losing streak to Creighton to 20 matches.

Roberts-Navarro had a team-high eight kills, no attack errors and a .333 attack percentage. Graduate student Maddie Klungel (Napa, Calif.) had team-bests of 14 assists and seven digs to go with three kills.

SET 1:
Creighton got off to a hot start in the opening set, scoring seven of the first eight points. A kill by Roberts-Navarro cut The Hall's deficit to 11-5, but the Bluejays scored five of the next six points to grab a commanding 16-6 advantage. Creighton went on to win the opening set, 25-12. Creighton had a .423 attack percentage in set one.

SET 2:
Trailing 16-9 in the second set, The Hall went on a 6-1 run to cut its deficit to 17-15. The Bluejays bounced back, however, and an 8-1 run closed out the set, 25-16, in Creighton's favor. Seton Hall improved, but still only hit .167 in the second frame.

A kill by Roberts-Navarro cut The Hall's deficit to 5-4, but Creighton responded with a 15-1 run to grab a commanding 20-5 advantage.Â
