
Fricker Fuels Pirates in Round One at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. – Junior George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) fired a 4-under-par, 68, to fuel the Seton Hall men's golf team in round one of the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club on Sunday.

Fricker had six birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 2 hole to fuel his tremendous round. After 18 holes, he's tied for fifth among 116 players. Loyola's Michael Crowley and North Dakota State's Jake Skarperud are tied for the individual lead at 7-under-par after round one.

As a team, The Hall is tied for seventh among a massive field of 20 teams following a 2-under-par, 286, in round one. North Dakota State is the team leader, at 13-under-par after 18 holes.

Sophomore Jack Bosworth (Simsbury, Conn.) had five birdies and nine pars to fuel a 1-under-par, 71, on Sunday. He's currently tied for 27th place after 18 holes after notching his third career sub-par round.

Junior Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) had three birdies and 12 pars on is way to a 1-over-par, 73, in round one. He's tied for 55th place overall.

One stroke behind Lee, graduate student Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) is 2-over-par after a 74 in round one. Like Fricker, Xie had an eagle on the second hole.

Freshman Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) rounded out the lineup with a 9-over-par, 81, on Sunday.

Competing as an individual, freshman Isaiah Williams (Flemington, N.J.) shot a solid 2-over-par, 74, fueled by 10 pars and three birdies.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The field will play 18 holes per day for three days, Sunday through Tuesday. A shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. PT all three days will begin competition. Seton Hall golfers will be paired with golfers from Air Force, Howard and Missouri State in round one.
