The Pirates will play three rounds of golf on Saturday and Sunday in Piscataway.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's golf team will return to action on April 6-7 for three rounds of golf at the Rutgers Invitational.

THE COURSE
Over 6,300 yards in length, the picturesque, tree-lined, PGA sanctioned course is a par 71 and offers a challenging layout with four teeing areas per hole. Highlights include narrow fairways, fast greens, and water hazards on seven holes. The 18-hole Rutgers University Golf Course is open to the general public and tee times start at 7 am weekdays and 6 am on weekends in the height of the season. Our targeted opening and closing dates, weather permitting, are March 1 and December 15.

Developed from a 9 hole facility, Rutgers University Golf Course was reopened on May 29, 1963 as an 18 hole facility. The course is located on Rutgers University's Busch Campus in Piscataway, and nearby points of interest are The Waksman Institute, Rutgers Medical School and multiple athletic facilities, including SHI Stadium. The mission of the course is to ensure that every player enjoys a timely round of golf played on superior fairways and true greens with uncompromising service and instruction.

THE FIELD
In addition to Seton Hall and host Rutgers, the field is comprised of seven other teams including: Albany, Dartmouth, Lehigh, Monmouth and Sacred Heart. BIG EAST competitors Georgetown and St. John's are also in the field.

THE FORMAT
Teams will play six golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

Seton Hall will be bringing the following lineup to Rutgers:
LAST TIME OUT
Senior Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) and freshman Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) tied at 10-over-par and paced the Seton Hall women's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the Georgia State Invitational on March 25.

Zavagli shot a 10-over-par, 82, in round one, but had three birdies and 12 pars in round two to shave 10 strokes off her first-round score. She finished with a 10-over-par, 82-72-154. Rane fired a 7-over-par, 79, in round one, and had a pair of birdies in the afternoon to fuel a 3-over-par, 75. After 36 holes, she's 10-over-par with a 79-75-154. They tied for 26th place among 89 individual golfers.

As a team, the Pirates shot a 32-over-par, 320, in the opening round, but shaved off a remarkable 20 strokes in round two to rocket up the leader board. The Hall finished in eighth place with a 44-over-par, 320-300-620.Â

SCHEDULE
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. On Sunday, there will be one final round, also with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Albany and St. John's on Saturday, beginning on holes 6 through 11.
