How it Happened
Both sides played a strong defensive first half, with Seton Hall generating the bulk of the early chances. The Pirates fired off the first three shots of the game, and four of the first five, but the hosts were unable to put an early tally on the board. The Blue Demons' best chance in the opening half came in the 29th minute, when a shot from Katelyn Jamie was stopped by a diving Avery Strohecker (South Riding, Va.).

Not even a minute after halftime, the Pirates cashed in for the first time. Grace Lawler (Wrentham, Mass.) played a high-arching pass into the middle of the penalty area. After taking a high bounce off the turf, the ball fell down for Bello who tapped it past the keeper for her first goal as a Pirate.
