Indianapolis, Ind. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team dropped a BIG EAST road contest on Saturday night to Butler, 2-0. The match, originally scheduled to be played on Butler's campus, was moved to an indoor complex at nearby Grand Park Sports Complex due to lightning in the area.
How it Happened
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start, scoring five minutes into the match to grab the early 1-0 lead. The Pirates played on the defensive for much of the early going, but a few looks on attack from Shea Boyle and Kailey McCormick forced the home side to be mindful of the Seton Hall attack. Nonetheless, Butler controlled the early match momentum and took the lead into halftime.
Out of the locker room, Butler doubled its lead in the 54th minute on a goal from Chloe Brecht. Trying to cut into the deficit, Seton Hall's best opportunity of the night on the attack came in the 78th minute. Adria Kitzinger, freshly back into the match after a substitution, fired a shot towards the bottom of the net but was turned aside by Butler keeper Addison Ash.
Up Next
The Pirates hit the road again this Wednesday to travel to Omaha to face Creighton at 8 p.m.
