Pirates Drop Road Test at Providence, 2-0

Providence, R.I. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team was unable to get back in the win column as it dropped its road match at Providence, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
Despite Providence mustering 15 total shots on the day, the Pirate defense did well in forcing tough looks at goal. Only three Friar shots were on frame, the first coming in the seventh minute as Kate Kleinsmith (Monument, Colo.) stopped a shot from Lily Gibbs. Providence would later strike first with a goal from Stephanie Schoeley in the 15th minute.
The Friars would quickly add on in the second, as Gibbs slipped one past Kleinsmith to double the lead in the 46th minute. The Pirates would quickly generate some offense in the ensuing minutes to try and respond, as Leyla Sanders had a look on goal less than a minute later that was snuffed out. The home side's defense held strong the remainder of the second half to keep the Pirates off the scoreboard.

The Pirates return to Owen T. Carroll Field next Saturday at 1 p.m. to host Xavier.
