
Aguilar Leads Pirates Again as Princeton Invite Concludes

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Marta Aguliar (Casares Malaga, Spain) shot a 3-over-par, 74, on Sunday to lead the Seton Hall women's golf team in the final round of the Princeton Invitational.

Aguilar had two birdies and 11 pars to fuel her final round. For the tournament, she tied for 12th place among 79 individual golfers with a 6-over-par, 74-71-74-219. A trio of golfers led the individual field at 2-under-par.

As a team, The Hall shot a 23-over-par, 307, in the final round, its best of the tournament. For the three-round event, Seton Hall finished at 85-over-par with a 322-308-307-937. Host Princeton won the team title and was the only program under par at 1-under. BIG EAST competitors St. John's and Georgetown finished at 38-over-par and 39-over-par, respectively.

Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) turned in her top individual round of the season, using four birdies to fuel a 4-over-par, 75. For the tournament, she tied for 51st place with a 19-over-par, 80-77-75-232.

Junior Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) finished her tournament with a 6-over-par, 77. For the tournament, she was 28-over-par with an 87-77-77-241.

Junior Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) and freshman Isabella Stewart (Wicklow, Ireland) each had a 10-over-par, 81, on Tuesday. Tran finished the tournament at 35-over-par with an 84-82-83-249, while Stewart was 40-over-par with an 84-88-81-253.

THE COURSE
Dating back to 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the walkable course requires precision shot-making and has superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.  With a fine and experienced PGA staff, the club hosts numerous tournaments, collegiate matches, clinics and golf outings every year.Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, the field was comprised of 11 other teams including: Albany, Boston University, Columbia, Dartmouth, FDU, Harvard, Pennsylvania Rutgers-Newark and Yale. Also joining the field are two BIG EAST opponents: Georgetown and St. John's.
