KANSAS CITY, MO. – United Soccer Coaches announced Thursday that senior defender Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) was named First Team Scholar All-America. United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-America teams honor players who have excelled both on and off the pitch this season.
The Argentine center back reached new heights while starting every game for the Pirates this season. In the attack, he recorded a career-high three goals and three assists as The Hall took the nation's toughest strength of schedule to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Defensively, with his towering six-foot-six-inch frame and athleticism, Resch sat at the center of a Pirates' defense that neutralized opposing attackers and set pieces in their tracks on the way to a top 30 GAA (0.832) in the nation.
As a result of his standout performances, Resch has received nine other honors this season, including First Team All-BIG EAST, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American, CSC Academic All-American and MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. With all his honors, Resch became the first Seton Hall men's soccer athlete to be named an All-American, Academic All-American, Scholar All-American, All-BIG EAST and claim one of the four individual BIG EAST soccer awards in program history.
In the classroom, Resch has thrived academically in his three seasons in South Orange. While working his way toward a finance degree. The Argentine has earned a 3.879 GPA. With the honor, Resch becomes the first Pirate since CJ Tibbling in 2020-21 to be named to the Scholar All-America First Team.
