The Pirates led for over 31 minutes and were up by as many as 14 points in the second quarter, but were outscored 22-to-13 in the fourth quarter as the Tigers rallied. Whereas Seton Hall was lights out down the stretch from the free-throw line against Fordham on Nov. 20, it was Princeton that took advantage from the line tonight. The Hall was only 13-for-21 from the line, while the Tigers were 15-for-16.

Â
SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler is coming off a 16-18 final overall record in 2024-25, including a 5-13 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. The Bulldogs earned the No. 9 seed in the 11-team BIG EAST Tournament and fell to St. John's, 66-50, in the opening round. Butler was invited to participate in the WNIT and defeated UIC in the first round before seeing their season come to an end with an 87-61 loss at Purdue Fort Wayne in round two.
Â
This year, the Bulldogs were picked to finish ninth the BIG EAST according to the preseason coaches' poll. Butler's third-year head coach, Austin Parkinson, returns two players, including sophomore Lily Zeinstra and senior Lilly Stoddard. The Bulldogs added sophomore guard McKenna Johnson from Minnesota, who was ranked No. 60 in ESPN's class of 2024 ranking. They also added redshirt sophomore Mallory Miller from Arizona State, who missed the 2024-25 season due to injury.
Â
Butler enters the BIG EAST opener with a 4-4 overall record. This is only the Bulldogs second road contest of the season. The first was a 19-point loss at Indiana on Nov. 19. Most recently, Butler is coming off a split of games at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, routing Dayton on Friday before getting routed by Georgia on Saturday. Four Bulldogs are currently averaging at least 8.0 points per game with Lily Zeinstra leading the way at 13.9.
