
Tran Leads Pirates to Finish at Columbia Classic

MELBOURNE, FLA. – Sophomore Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) shot a 2-over-par, 74, in Sunday's final round to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Columbia Classic.

Tran had 16 pars on a terrific round on Sunday to move up five spots in the final individual standings. For the tournament, she tied for 44th place with a 15-over-par, 83-74-74-231.

Senior Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) and freshman Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) tied for the top Seton Hall competitor of the weekend. The golfers tied for 16th place among 71 individual golfers at 8-over-par. Both golfers shot a 3-over-par, 75, to pace The Hall in round three.

Princeton's Catherine Rao won the individual title at 6-under-par.

As a team, The Hall shot a 14-over-par, 302, in round three. For the tournament, the Pirates placed fifth in the 12-team field with a 32-over-par, 300-294-302-896. Illinois State won the team title at 4-over-par.

Freshman Amelie Gras (Elancourt, France) finished her tournament with an 8-over-par, 80, in round three. For the weekend, she tied for 20th place with a 9-over-par, 76-69-80-225.

Junior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) finished her tournament with a 6-over-par, 78. For the tournament, she was 19-over-par with a 77-80-78-235.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) finished her solid tournament with a 3-over-par, 75, on Sunday. For the tournament, she tied for 24th place with an 11-over-par, 76-76-75-227.
