SCOUTING PORTLAND
Portland is enjoying one of its best seasons in program history and enters its second-round contest against the Pirates with a 30-4 record, it's best since the 1983-84 season. This is the sixth straight year the Pilots have qualified for a postseason tournament and their first time playing in the WBIT.  The Pilots have played in the NCAA Tournament each of the last two seasons, last year playing against Kansas State as a 13-seed. The Pilots qualified for the postseason this year after winning a share of the regular season title in the West Coast Conference (WCC) for the first time since 1997.
Â
Maisie Burnham, Alexis Mark and Emme Shearer were all named to the All-WCC First Team. Burnham and Shearer are both averaging north of 16.0 points per game.
Â
Portland has won 14 of its last 15 games, including a thrilling, come-from-behind, overtime victory at Stanford in the WBIT second round on Thursday.Â
Â
UP NEXT
If Seton Hall defeats Portland, it will advance to the national quarterfinals of the WBIT and face the winner of the game between top-seeded Saint Joseph's and Villanova in Philadelphia on Thursday, March 27.Â
