PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) is the individual leader in the clubhouse after round one of the 2025 Princeton Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Pirates are in third-place entering the final round.
Â
Lally had only one blemish on a spectacular round despite the poor weather conditions. He had a double-bogey on the No. 10 hole, but otherwise had six birdies and 11 pars to fuel a 4-under-par, 67. Lally enters Sunday's final round with a two-stroke lead on the field of 75 individual golfers.
Â
Originally slated for a three-round tournament, today's rain shortened the tournament to an 18-18 format for the two days of the event.
Â
Collectively, the Pirates are in third place after a 6-over-par, 290, on Saturday. Rutgers currently leads at 4-over-par and host Princeton is second at 5-over-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown, is currently sixth at 10-over-par.
Â
Sophomore Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) and senior George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had three birdies apiece in route to a pair of 3-over-par, 74's, on Saturday. They're currently tied for 20th place.
Â
Senior Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) are currently tied for 29th place after shooting a 4-over-par, 75.
