
Hennessee, Lally Fuel Pirates to Third Place Finish

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) shot a 1-under-par, 70, in Tuesday's final round to help lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a third-place team finish at the Princeton Invitational.

Hennessee had five birdies and eight pars to fuel Seton Hall's top individual round. For the tournament, he moved up 14 spots to tie for 15th place with a 3-over-par, 75-70-145.

As a team, Seton Hall was only one stroke worse on Sunday, shooting a 7-over-par, 291. For the event, The Hall placed third with a 13-over-par, 290-291-581. Princeton won the team title after shooting 7-under-par in round two. The Tigers were 2-under-par for the tournament. Rutgers finished second at 11-over-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown, placed sixth at 16-over-par.

Seton Hall's top individual golfer for the tournament was junior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland). The individual leader in the clubhouse after 18 holes, Lally used three birdies to shoot a 2-over-par, 73, on Sunday. He finished second among 75 individual golfers with a 2-under-par, 67-73-140. It's Lally's second career sub-par tournament.

Princeton's Reed Greyserman won the individual title at 5-under-par.

Sophomore Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) shot an even-par, 71, on Sunday to move into a tie with Hennessee for 15th place overall. Shah had five birdies and eight pars in round two. For the tournament, he was 3-over-par with a 74-71-145.

Senior George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot a 6-over-par, 77, in round two. For the tournament, he was 9-over-par with a 74-77-151.

Senior Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas) closed out the tournament with an 8-over-par, 79. For the event, he was 13-over-par with an 81-74-155.

THE COURSE
Dating back to 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the walkable course requires precision shot-making and has superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.  With a fine and experienced PGA staff, the club hosts numerous tournaments, collegiate matches, clinics and golf outings every year.Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, the field featured teams from Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Howard, Penn, Rider, Rutgers, Saint Joseph's, Temple and Yale. BIG EAST opponent Georgetown is also in the field.
