Perez Collects Second BIG EAST Weekly Honor

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Off the back of a week of clutch hitting, including a go-ahead home run, Andrea Perez earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday.
In midweek action, Perez collected three hits and three RBI as the Pirates split the doubleheader against the FDU Knights.
As the weekend arrived, the Pirates entered into a clash with a BIG EAST-leading St. John's side that had only lost one conference game all season. Despite collecting a two-run home run in the opening game of that series, the Pirates fell short in a 5-4 loss.

The Pirates return to action on Tuesday, April 15, when they travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to take on the Drexel Dragon at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloSports.

During Sunday's doubleheader, Perez's go-ahead three-run home run in game one secured a 3-1 victory for the Pirates. Not only that, but it helped Head Coach Angie Churchill collect her 300th career win and 50th BIG EAST win.
