
Three Record Double-Doubles as Pirates Rally in Four Sets

COLLEGE PARK, MD. – Freshman Sadie Reich (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a match-high 19 kills and three other Pirates collected double-doubles as the Seton Hall women's volleyball team rallied for a four-set victory, 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14), over Coppin State on Saturday.
The Hall's offense turned up its efficiency after a 26-24 first-set loss on Saturday, winning the final three sets. The Pirates had a .315 attack percentage for the match, which is its second-highest of the season.
Reich was brilliant again, flirting with a triple-double, and finishing with 19 kills, only four attack errors, a career-high seven blocks and six digs.
Sophomore Gwen Adler (Barrington, Ill.) had a career-high 40 assists to go with 12 digs and three blocks for her fifth career double-double. Collecting their first-ever double-doubles, Asli Subasili (Tekirdag, Turkiye) had 10 kills and 10 blocks, while Hanna Labanowska (Olszewnica Stara, Poland) had 11 kills and 10 digs.
SET 1:
A kill by Reich gave The Hall an early 5-3 lead in set one, but Coppin State responded with an 8-1 run to grab an 11-6 advantage. The Pirates rallied, and a block by Reich and Subasili tied the score at 14. Down 22-19, The Hall scored back-to-back points, and a kill by Maddy Loiselle (Tampa, Fla.) cut its deficit to 22-21, and forced an Eagles timeout. Down 23-22, Seton Hall again scored two in a row to enter set point, but Coppin State was able to stave off the loss and score three straight points for a 26-24 victory.
SET 2:
The Eagles scored the first two points of the second set, but the Pirates responded with seven straight and never looked back. The Hall had a .296 attack percentage in the second frame, compared to just .057 for the Eagles. A block by Reich and Alexis Opland (Woodbury, Minn.) put The Hall in set point, 24-19, and a kill by Subasili won it for the Pirates.
SET 3:
Seton Hall continued its momentum into set three and led wire-to-wire for a 25-20 victory. Back-to-back kills by Loiselle gave The Hall a commanding 21-15 lead. The Pirates extended its lead to as many as six points before a kill by Subasili ended the set in their favor. The Hall had a .353 attack percentage in the third frame.
SET 4:
Leading 11-10 in set four, The Hall went on a 10-2 run, and a kill by Subasili gave it a commanding 21-12 advantage. Up 24-14, a kill by Loiselle sent the Hall to a four-set victory. The Pirates had a team-high .433 attack percentage in the final set, compared to just .029 for Coppin State.

The Pirates will return to action on Friday, Sept. 26 when they return to historic Walsh Gymnasium to open BIG EAST Conference play. The Hall will host Georgetown at 5:00 p.m.
