Five Pirates scored at least nine points and the Seton Hall women's basketball team turned a two-point battle at the half into a 73-57 victory on Tuesday in Walsh Gymnasium.

Mired in a defensive affair for the first half, Seton Hall's offense broke out with a 30-point third quarter, and a 14-2 run catapulted it to victory.

Junior Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) had a game-high 19 points, while Mariana Valenzuela (Mazatlan, Mexico) added 15 points and a team-best eight rebounds. Zahara Bishop (Minneapolis, Minn.), the reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, had 12 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Jordana Codio (Winter Garden, Fla.) finished with 10 points and six rebounds.Â

Connecticut has not skipped a beat since last playing Seton Hall on Jan. 3. The defending national champions enter Saturday's contest as the country's top-ranked team with a perfect 20-0 record overall and a 10-0 mark in BIG EAST play. The Huskies are coming off an 83-42 victory at Georgetown on Thursday and have been defeating its opponents by an average margin of victory of +38.8 points per game. Sarah Strong, the leading contender for national player of the year, currently ranks in the top-4 in the BIG EAST in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks.
