LAST GAME
Sophomore Ja'Kahla Craft (Elk River, Minn.) scored a career-high 26 points and had the most-efficient game in Seton Hall history as the Pirates downed DePaul, 96-74, in Walsh Gymnasium on Saturday.
Â
The Pirates never trailed in this one, dominating both sides of the floor from the very start. Seton Hall scored 20 of the first 23 points in the game and never looked back. The Hall shot 64.4 percent from the field for the game, its highest percentage since shooting 66.7 percent against Boston College on Feb. 19, 1994.
Â
Craft turned in an all-time performance in only her third career start. The sophomore was a perfect 11-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-4 from three-point range and doubled her previous career-high in points. She breaks Seton Hall's record for single-game shooting efficiency with a minimum of 10 attempts.
Â
Jordana Codio (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Mariana Valenzuela (Mazatlan, Mexico) both registered double-doubles. Codio had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Valenzuela collected 13 points and tied her career-high with 13 rebounds. Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) had 17 points, while Ari Woodard (Oviedo, Fla.) making her first career start, had five points, five rebounds and a game-high 11 assists.
Â
Seton Hall All-Time vs. the Musketeers:Â Seton Hall leads, 25-3
Earlier This Season:Â
Seton Hall 75, Xavier 55 (F) – December 28, 2025 (Walsh Gymnasium)
Â
AGAINST XAVIER
Seton Hall and Xavier will meet for the second time this season, this time in Cincinnati. The Pirates have absolutely dominated the all-time series from the start having won 25 of the 28 meetings. The Hall has won the last 15 games in the series and hasn't lost in the Cintas Center since Jan. 6, 2019.
Â
EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST XAVIER
Junior Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) had a game-high 24 points and Mariana Valenzuela (Mazatlan, Mexico) had a double-double as the Seton Hall women's basketball team defeated Xavier, 75-55, in Walsh Gymnasium on Dec. 28.
Â
For three quarters it was a scrappy, foul-infested affair, until the Pirates offense took control in the final 10 minutes. Seton Hall out-scored Xavier, 26-to-12, in the fourth quarter, which included nine points from Catalon.Â
Â
Catalon had 24 points, three steals and drew 11 Xavier fouls. Valenzuela tallied 16 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds and three blocks for her second career double-double. Jordana Codio (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Ja'Kahla Craft (Elk River, Minn.) came off the bench and scored 12 points apiece.
Â
SCOUTING XAVIER
Xavier enters its Wednesday contest with a 11-14 record overall and a 4-12 mark in BIG EAST play. Although the Musketeers have improved mightily since last season, they're still mired in ninth place of the current conference standings. Xavier has lost seven of its last eight games, including a 78-38 loss to Villanova in Cincinnati on Wednesday. Two Musketeers are currently averaging in double-figures in scoring, led by Mariyah Noel with 15.1 points per game. Xavier is currently last in the BIG EAST averaging just 57.8 points per contest.
Â
BYE WATCH
The top five teams in the final BIG EAST standings will earn a bye for the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament next month. Currently, Seton Hall is in third place, 3.5 games ahead of the sixth-place team, Creighton, with only four games remaining. Seton Hall and Creighton split their season series, head-to-head, so the second tie breaker is their respective success against the top teams in the conference. Unless Creighton defeats UConn or Villanova, Seton Hall will win the tie-breaker over the Bluejays by virtue of its season sweep of Marquette.
Â
UP NEXT
Seton Hall will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 22 when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium to host local BIG EAST rival St. John's on Senior Day. Tip time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+. 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net will also carry the game.
